Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) (NYSE:FSL.B)
recognized 10 companies with its prestigious Supplier Performance
Excellence Awards. The annual awards were presented to global
suppliers demonstrating excellent performance in providing value,
quality products and services key to Freescale's success.
"To meet the needs of our global customers, we identify and
partner with suppliers who consistently deliver quality performance
and services," said Tom Linton, vice president and chief procurement
officer for Freescale. "These strategic partners have demonstrated
excellence throughout the year and helped Freescale add value to the
markets we serve."
For 2005 performance, Freescale recognized suppliers in three
categories and awarded one company the Best Overall Supplier of the
Year.
Best Overall Supplier of the Year Award recognizes the company
that consistently maintained the best overall score in quality, value
and services for all four quarters of a calendar year. Komatsu
Electronics Metals Co., a supplier of wafers to Freescale, is the
recipient of this year's best overall supplier award.
Gold Performance Excellence Award recognizes companies that have
demonstrated outstanding performance for all four quarters of a
calendar year. Criteria include quality, cost, on-time delivery,
technology innovation and customer service. Global recipients include:

Continuous Improvement Award recognizes companies for consistent
and marked improvement over time. Teradyne, a supplier of capital
equipment to Freescale, received the Continuous Improvement Award.
Freescale's annual Diversity Supplier of the Year Award recognizes
a diversity supplier for quality, cost, service innovations and
on-time delivery. This year's recipient is Computize, a computer
peripherals supplier.
Nominations are made by Freescale's commodity managers and are
based on suppliers' performance ratings in several categories such as
quality, competitiveness, delivery, service and technology.
Freescale's executive team reviews the nominations and makes the final
selection of the top suppliers.
