The Pierre is rolling back its room rates for those celebrating wedding
anniversaries as far back as 1930 


NEW YORK, Feb. 20  /PRNewswire/ -- Remember when Coca Cola was only a dime,
candy was a penny and hotel room rates were $18.00 a night?  Well, The Pierre
New York, A Four Seasons Hotel is honoring room rates of days gone by.

Those people celebrating their anniversary can check into the Pierre New York at
the rate they paid on their wedding night.  What is the catch?  All guests must
show their original hotel bill from their special night at The Pierre in order
for their rate to be honored and a two-night minimum stay is required.

"The idea came to me recently, when I received two letters in one week with
lovely sentiments about the guest's fond memories of their wedding nights at the
Pierre and attached were their original hotel bills. One was from 1943 for $6.75
a night and the other was from 1954 for $18.00 a night," says Guy Rigby, general
manager of The Pierre New York.

This isn't the first time Rigby has received these types of letters -- the
hotel's reservations department receives faxes of original hotel bills from
guests celebrating their anniversaries on an ongoing basis.  "Many guests have
brought their Pierre memorabilia to show us when they check-in and often ask if
we can honor their old rate from their past stays," adds Rigby.  Now they can.

The Anniversary Memory Weekend package consists of a two night minimum stay,
anniversary wedding cake with a split of champagne upon arrival and American
breakfast for two in Cafe Pierre or through room service beginning at $550 for
the first night and the second night at the "anniversary rate."  Also available
is the opportunity to recreate the "wedding dinner" for two through room service
($250) and for the concierge to organize a special ceremony to renew the
couple's wedding vows at supplemental charges.  In addition, this package is
subjectto availability and is offered from now until September 30, 2004.
