Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday it is recalling about 320,000 vehicles in North America for various safety reasons.

The recalls are related to three specific issues, with the largest related to driveshaft flexible coupling problems affecting certain 2015 to 2017 Ford Transit vehicles. That recall affects 293,558 vehicles in the U.S., 22,960 in Canada and 2,744 in Mexico.

In all three cases, the company said it is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to the issues.

The company said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday that the recalls could result in more than $250 million in costs, without giving an exact amount.

That potential hit would add to the company's existing challenges. Last week, Ford lowered its profit outlook for the year as the cost of warranty repairs, weakness in China and tougher competition in trucks and sport-utility vehicles in North America weigh on its operations.

In its safety recall for Ford Transit vans, Ford said the vehicle's driveshaft flexible coupling could crack with increasing mileage, causing separation of the driveshaft, a loss of motive power or unintended vehicle movement when the parking brake isn't applied.

Ford is recalling select 2019 Ford Edge vehicles for a seat-belt-related issue. That recall affects 366 vehicles in the U.S. and 65 in Canada.

The company also issued a recall affecting 18 2019 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles in the U.S. for having improperly secured rear-toe link fasteners.
