TOLEDO, Ohio, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE:DCN) announced today that the Ford Motor Company has extended its contract with Dana to supply the full-perimeter frame for the popular F-150 full-size pickup, Motor Trend magazine's 2004 Truck of the Year. The contract is slated to continue across several iterations of the vehicle lifecycle, thereby allowing both Ford and Dana to benefit from improved asset utilization. (LOGO: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990903/DANA ) "We're pleased to have extended this important contract with Ford, particularly on a vehicle as significant as the F-150," said Mike Burns, Dana chairman and CEO. "Dana's frame helps the F-150 ride smoother and last longer. The electrocoated frame surface improves corrosion resistance and the Dana hydroformed siderails increase vehicle stiffness and torsional rigidity for better handling - contributing to praise from safety advocates." The Ford F-150 has earned NHTSA's five-star rating for driver and right- front-passenger frontal crash performance and received a "Best Pick" in frontal offset crash testing performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Dana has supplied the full-perimeter frame for the F-150 for more than 30 years. Depending on the engine and transmission configuration, Dana also supplies the transmission oil cooler, piston rings, and various gaskets and fluid-transfer products for the Ford F-150.
