Dana Corporation Chairman Speaks at First SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress CHICAGO, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Michael J. Burns, Chairman and CEO of Dana Corporation (NYSE:DCN), cited technology advancements and collaboration as key drivers for the continued growth of the commercial vehicle industry during a kickoff address Tuesday at the inaugural Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress & Exposition in Chicago. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990903/DANA ) "The pace of technological advancement continues to accelerate within this sector," Mr. Burns said. "Across the supply industry, we're seeing innovation -- in terms of both process and product -- evolve at an impressive rate. This, in turn, is enabling us to deliver enhanced value to our customers. "On balance, I believe the commercial vehicle market is currently positioned as well or better than any other sector of the vehicular industry," he added. "With nearly $2 billion in annual commercial vehicle sales, Dana is a major player in these markets. And we couldn't be happier about it -- or more committed to this industry." Mr. Burns also emphasized the importance of suppliers collaborating to deliver better solutions, and enhanced value, to their customers. "Our Roadranger(R) marketing agreement with Eaton is a great example of the power of partnership," he said. "By leveraging our combined strengths, we are turning 'two-plus-two' into something far greater than four." Mr. Burns' remarks were delivered at the Dana Technology Theater, which will play host to a series of panels this week focusing on key issues pertaining to both the on- and off-road heavy-duty markets. The inaugural Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress is designed to bring together engineering professionals, suppliers, and manufacturers in the truck and bus industry and those in off-highway and agricultural machinery manufacturing. Dana Corporation is a global leader in the design, engineering, and manufacture of value-added products and systems for automotive, commercial, and off-highway vehicles. Delivering on a century of innovation, the company's continuing operations employ approximately 45,000 people worldwide dedicated to advancing the science of mobility.
