AXA Financial Elects New Director to Company Boards

AXA Financial, Inc., announced that Charles G. T. Stonehill has been elected to the Boards of Directors of AXA Financial, Inc., AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and MONY Life Insurance Company of America. The election was effective November 16, 2017.

Stonehill is Founding Partner of Green & Blue Advisors LLC. He serves as non-executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Julius Baer Group Ltd. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of CommonBond, LLC, a New York based marketplace lender originating student loans, and of PlayMagnus A/S in Oslo, Norway, a company that represents World Chess champion Magnus Carlsen’s online, digital and business interests.

During his financial services career, Stonehill served as the Managing Director of Lazard Frères & Co., LLC, and global and head of Lazard Capital Markets from 2002 to 2004. He served as Head of Investment Banking for the Americas of Credit Suisse First Boston from 1997 to 2002 and as Head of European Equities and Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc., from 1984 to 1997. Stonehill began his career at JP Morgan in the oil and gas investment banking group, where he worked from 1978 to 1984.

Stonehill has been a Board Member of many financial services companies, including a non-executive Director of the London Metal Exchange, GAM Holding AG, the LCH Group, Ltd. (LCH Clearnet), and of Lazard & Co., Ltd., among other companies. He is a Governor of Harrow School in the United Kingdom and a trustee of the Georg Solti Accademia. Stonehill received a M.A. degree in Modern History from Oxford University.
