First paragraph, second sentence of release should read: The common stock dividend is payable on August 28, 2015 to common shareholders of record as of August 14, 2015 (instead of: The common stock dividend is payable on August 14, 2015 to common shareholders of record as of August 28, 2015).

The corrected release reads:

CIT DECLARES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

CIT Group Inc. (NYSE:CIT), a leading provider of commercial lending and leasing services, today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per common share on its outstanding common stock. The common stock dividend is payable on August 28, 2015 to common shareholders of record as of August 14, 2015.
