Commercial Federal Corporation (NYSE:CFB) announced
today that it will convene a special meeting of shareholders on
Tuesday, November 1, 2005, to vote on its previously announced merger
with Bank of the West. Commercial Federal set Monday, September 19,
2005 as the record date for the determination of shareholders entitled
to vote at the special meeting.
