--Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s (LGFA, LGFB) Class A shares surged 12% to $15.26 as The Information reported that CBS Corp. (CBS) expressed interest in buying Starz from Lions Gate for about $5 billion. The report cited four people familiar with the situation.
--CBS interim CEO Joseph Ianniello made an informal offer to Lions Gate over the past weeks, according to the report.
--Spokesmen for CBS and Lions Gate declined to comment.
