Bay View Capital Joins New Russell Microcap Index

SAN MATEO, Calif., Aug. 3  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bay View Capital Corporation (NYSE:BVC) (the "Company") today announced that it has been included in the new Russell Microcap Index.

The Russell Microcap Index is comprised of the smallest 1,000 securities in the small-cap Russell 2000 Index along with the next smallest 1,000 companies, based on a ranking of the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks by market capitalization.  The index offers portfolio managers and other investors a comprehensive, unbiased barometer to compare their performance against the microcap marketplace of stocks.
