Umang Jain Named Chief Technology Officer for Bridgepoint Education

SAN DIEGO, March 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridgepoint Education announced today that it has appointed Umang Jain to the position of Chief Technology Officer. Jain will provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the company's IT program as it pivots toward education technology services. He reports to Chief Executive Officer Andrew Clark.

Prior to joining Bridgepoint, Jain served as Chief Information Officer for Hill Physicians Medical Group, where he successfully drove the digital transformation of the company by leading its virtual care program, implemented Workday for HR and Finance functions, and modernized its data and data integration infrastructure. Before Hill, he held several positions with increasing responsibility at Blue Shield of California where he worked for almost a decade. While there, he helped replace multiple legacy applications and implemented cloud applications like Salesforce, led the agile transformation for better and faster time to market for the technology solutions, and built 21^st century data integration capabilities. His career positions also include working in the technology integration practice at Deloitte Consulting. In addition, he founded Bright Start, an angel investment group that funds and mentors early-stage startups in the education space to help them grow.

Jain holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business and a bachelor's degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.
