      The Board of Directors of BankAtlantic Bancorp (NYSE:BBX) has declared a 
      $0.025 cash dividend on its Common Stock. The Board set a payment 
      date of October 17, 2008, to all shareholders of record at the close of 
      trading on October 3, 2008. As the record and payment dates are after 
      the previously announced one for five reverse stock split to be effected 
      on September 26, 2008, the $0.025 per share cash dividend declared by 
      the Board reflects the effect of the reverse stock split.
