NEW YORK, May 5 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- American Oriental Bioengineering, Inc. (NYSE:AOB), a pharmaceutical company dedicated to improving health through the development, manufacture and commercialization of a broad range of prescription and over the counter ("OTC") products in China, today announced the Company's participation in the following conferences:

  -- Merrill Lynch Asian STARS 2009, held May 6-8 at the Ritz Carlton in
     Singapore.  Ms. Lily Li, the Company's COO and CFO, is scheduled to
     meet with institutional investors and to participate in a panel
     discussion entitled "Asian Healthcare Sector - Immune to Economic
     Downturn?"
  -- Credit Suisse China Healthcare Tour, held the week of May 18th in China.
  -- Oppenheimer 3rd Annual China Dragon Call Conference, held May 19-21 at
     300 Madison Avenue in New York City.   Management is currently
     scheduled to meet with institutional investors and to present at 1:20
     pm ET on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
