Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) reported flaring at its Martinez, Calif refinery due to an unspecified unit upset June 27.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. said June 27 that its Lemont, Ill., refinery has resolved "support system disruptions" it experienced during storms, with no production impact.
Alon USA Energy reported maintenance being done at its Big Springs, Texas, refinery Thursday in a filing with state regulators. The company reported that it is taking steps to repair a firebox leak and reported emissions from the fluid catalytic cracking unit's boiler.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported unplanned flaring at its Wilmington, Calif., refinery June 26 due to an issue with the third-party hydrogen plant that supplies the refinery. No material impact to production is expected.

Motiva Enterprises LLC shut down a production unit at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 14 after discovering a possible leak, according to a government filing.
Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. (COS.T, COSWF) said June 10 that Syncrude Canada Ltd. advanced 50 days of planned turnaround maintenance on Coker 8-1 at the northern Alberta oil-sands project. The turnaround was scheduled to occur in the second half of 2013 but was advanced because of reduced throughput.
Several units at Marathon Petroleum Corp.'s (MPC) 80,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Texas City, Texas, remained off line June 10 following a leak at the refinery's FCCU, the company said.
Flint Hills Resources on June 7 said a coker unit wet-gas compressor at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery's west plant was restarted after tripping offline, according to a report to environmental regulators. Flaring occurred for about 26 minutes, and the coker unit was brought down "to a safe state." It wasn't clear whether the coker unit had been returned to normal operations.
Alon USA Energy, Inc. (ALJ) on June 7 said a reformer unit at its refinery in Krotz Springs, La., was restarted after shutting down for unplanned repairs late in April.
Phillips 66 (PSX) on June 6 said planned work is currently under way at its Wood River Refinery in Roxana, Ill. The company didn't elaborate on the scope of the maintenance, when it began or how long it would continue.
Motiva Enterprises LLC on June 6 said planned maintenance on a delayed coker unit's gas-recovery system at its Port Arthur, Texas, refinery under way since June 3 resulted in flaring. A filing to environmental regulators made available on June 5 didn't specify whether the work was planned or unplanned. It did say operations were slowed to stabilize the unit and minimize flaring. The current status of operations isn't clear.
CVR Refining LP said unplanned sulfur-recovery unit maintenance on June 5 at its Wynnewood, Okla., refinery resulted in flaring an emission of hydrogen sulfide, according to a filing to the U.S. National Response Center. The report didn't specify whether the work was impacting production at the 70,000 barrel-a-day refinery.
