ZEVEX International Inc. (Nasdaq: ZVXI) today announced the European launch of a new robust, lightweight, enteral feeding pump through its marketing partner, the clinical nutrition division of Royal Numico, Nutricia Clinical. The Flocare(R) Infinity(TM), manufactured by ZEVEX, is a private-label version of ZEVEX's new Infinity enteral feeding pump that provides patients in hospitals, nursing homes, or at home with the lightest, most accurate, and longest-lasting, battery-operated pump available in Europe. ZEVEX began marketing its own EnteraLite(R) Infinity(TM) enteral feeding pump in the United States in January 2005. Enteral nutrition, or tube feeding directly into the gastrointestinal tract, is indicated for patients who cannot maintain their nutrition needs via normal oral feeding. Patients who benefit from enteral tube feeding include post-stroke and head and neck trauma victims, and those with cancer, gastrointestinal and esophageal disorders. David J. McNally, CEO and president of ZEVEX, said, "We are extremely pleased that the Flocare Infinity pump is being introduced by Nutricia Clinical into key European markets. The superior performance and benefits of our pump technology will support Nutricia Clinical's continued market share growth in those markets. This launch culminates a tremendous amount of collaboration and hard work between both of our product development and marketing teams. "Pursuant to our agreements with Royal Numico, ZEVEX is manufacturing the Flocare Infinity pump, disposable components, and accessories for distribution by Nutricia Clinical into more than 30 countries outside of North America. Under these agreements, ZEVEX expects to realize approximately $3.5 million in revenue in 2005 and $7 million in annual revenue for several years thereafter from the sale of the Flocare Infinity pump and other products," continued McNally. Rudy Mareel, president of Nutricia Clinical, Numico's clinical nutrition division, said, "I am delighted to be able to add this industry-leading Flocare pump to our complete enteral care package. The first priority of Nutricia Clinical has always been to offer the most flexible solutions while paying the most rigorous attention to safety. "Our Nutrison Pack offers the most flexible packaging format for specialized clinical nutrition. Our feeding tubes in DEHP-free plastic lead the competition in this important safety area. We will market the Flocare Infinity pump as an integral component of our total tube feed offering. We are confident of rapid success, and we look forward to a strong and lasting relationship with our partners at ZEVEX," continued Mareel. Patented ZEVEX technology removes barriers to portability and ease of use that are commonly faced by enteral nutrition patients. Because the new Flocare Infinity pump includes a 24-hour battery and weighs just 14.4 ounces (408 grams), Flocare patients can be mobile and feed at any place or time. The Flocare Infinity's keypad and display are easy for patients and caregivers to understand and use. Its feature set includes the widest flow-rate range and largest display text of any enteral pump, and it is the only pump on the market that can be cleaned under running water. The engineering breakthrough for cleaning the pump addresses a need expressed by caregivers to easily maintain the pump without fear of damage. Patented ZEVEX sensing technology also allows the pump to operate without annual calibration of pump sensors, further reducing the cost of ownership. The Flocare Infinity's versatility makes it well-suited for use by patients of all ages in hospitals, nursing homes or at home. About ZEVEX International Inc. ZEVEX International Inc.
