Xoom customers can recharge their families’ phones in seconds for only 99 cents per recharge

Xoom, a leading digital money transfer provider, announced today the launch of its Xoom Mobile Recharge service to Singapore. The cutting-edge service enables customers to instantly send airtime credit (recharge) online from the U.S. to prepaid mobile phones from three of the largest providers in Singapore – M1, SingTel and StarHub.

Xoom’s new Mobile Recharge to Singapore augments Xoom’s traditional bank-to-bank transfer service with a very convenient, secure and inexpensive way for customers to provide additional support to their loved ones in Singapore. For example, users can opt to send a traditional money transfer to mom or dad and then send phone recharges to other relatives or friends – all with Xoom. Plus, Xoom customers don’t have to waste time driving to the store and standing in lines since they can instantly recharge their families’ phones from their desktops or their mobile phones via the Xoom.com mobile app.

“Our Mobile Recharge service is the perfect way for our customers with families or business interests in Singapore to stay connected all day every day without risking any interruption of service,” said Helen Li, Marketing Manager at Xoom. “It takes just seconds to send a recharge and it’s only 99 cents USD each time you use the service.”

Xoom offers a range of recharge amounts from $3.50 Singapore Dollars (SGD) to 1,000 SGD. A user only needs a U.S. bank account, debit card or credit card to send a recharge through the Xoom platform.

The moment airtime is credited to a prepaid mobile phone account, a free in-language text message is sent to the recipient with confirmation that their account has been recharged and the amount of the recharge. Xoom securely auto-saves the transaction information, including the mobile number, payment method and amount sent, enabling repeat transactions to be sent with just two clicks.
