DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 24  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wellstone Filters
(OTC:WLSFOTC:-OTC:News) (BULLETIN BOARD: WLSF - News)  announced that its
"Wellstone" trademark, application Serial Number 78/428585 filed June 2, 2004,
has been recently approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office
with respect to use in the sale of cigarettes, hand rolling tobacco and
cigarette filters.  The Federal trademark provides Wellstone Filters with
important intellectual property protections. In addition, it provides a clear
basis for Wellstone to obtain trademark protection in foreign countries.

Wellstone also announced that it intends to include a reference to the patent
for its filter compound (U.S. Patent 6,119,701) to be included with all
packaging for Wellstone cigarettes, to underscore the company's scientific
basis and the uniqueness of its filter material.
