Verso Promotes Yves Desmet to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales; Formerly Vice President EMEA Operations, Desmet to Drive V

Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSOD), a leading
provider of packet-based solutions, announced today that Yves Desmet
has been promoted to Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales, overseeing
inside and outside sales, pre-sales engineering, distribution channels
and all aspects of customer interface. He will remain in Europe,
reporting directly to Monty Bannerman, chief executive officer.
   "Yves is a seasoned sales executive and strategist with intimate
knowledge of our products and markets," said Bannerman. "He brings an
outstanding record of achievement in the EMEA region. He successfully
reorganized and integrated sales and engineering resources throughout
EMEA, resulting in significant revenue increases and strong customer
relationships. In his new position he will seek further opportunities
to maximize sales and distribution relationships, streamline
processes, and manage forecasting and reporting," Bannerman added.
   An engineer and entrepreneur with 15 years of experience, Mr.
Desmet founded several companies in the 1990's, including one of the
first VoIP distributors in Europe, which was eventually acquired by
Clarent Corporation. At Clarent, he was appointed Vice President of
OEM and Distribution Sales for EMEA and subsequently named Vice
President at Verso Technologies when it acquired Clarent Corporation
in 2002.
