Verigy's V93000 HSM GDDR5 Solution Chosen by Large Korean Customer

   Verigy (NASDAQ: VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, announced today that it has won new GDDR5 volume production test business with its V93000 HSM platform at a large, market leading Korean customer.

The Verigy V93000 HSM6800 delivers at-speed, high throughput memory ATE for today's ultra-fast GDDR5 graphics memory devices with operation speeds above 4Gbps per-pin. The customer selected the V93000 HSM6800 for its industry leading at-speed final test performance with speed headroom up to 8Gbps as well as for its proven higher throughput and yield over other high-speed memory test systems available on the market.

GDDR5 is the state-of-the-art high performance graphics DRAM standard, designed for bandwidth heavy graphics applications such as graphic cards, game consoles as well as high-end consumer applications (e.g. DTV, set top boxes). GDDR5 provides two-to-three times the memory bandwidth of its predecessor, GDDR3. To enable data rates up to 8Gbps, GDDR5 introduces a variety of new features. These features include data bus inversion (DBI) and address bus inversion (ABI), which improve signal integrity while reducing power consumption at the same time, as well as an error detection and correction mechanism via a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) algorithm, which detects data transmission errors on the high speed signal lines and ensures stable system operation. Verigy's V93000 HSM is the only memory ATE available today that supports testing of all these advanced memory technology features of GDDR5.
