Vignette Corp. (NASDAQ:VIGND) today announced that
Mobitel, Slovenia's foremost mobile communications provider, recently
launched two new Web sites built on Vignette(R) Portal technology. The
new sites add to Mobitel's array of existing sites that also use
Vignette Portal. By consolidating its sites to a single portal
framework with a centralized console, Mobitel is able to respond
directly to customer requests, provide and establish new content
services, and cut costs while tailoring the portals to specifically
meet customer needs.
Mobitel's Vignette Portal deployment also provides the company a
faster, more updated system. Additionally, the use of Everix -- made
by MobileAware -- allows customers to access to Mobitel portal via
mobile phone, PDA, and Internet.
"We're aiming to offer our customers the newest services and
solutions, and that of course also includes online services," said
Domen Rakovec, chief development officer at Mobitel. "For different
devices, the Vignette Portal allows us to create and offer our
communities a flexible and personalized portal. For the next few
years, we are expecting demand for mobile Internet services and
wireless data traffic to grow. In order to efficiently keep pace with
this market trend, Vignette is the best solution for us."
In its move to standardize its Web strategies and to provide its
customers with a broader range of services, Mobitel selected to expand
its current successful Vignette deployment. Mobitel rolled out two new
sites: www.planet.si, a portal which has recorded more than 5,000
visitors per minute since going live, and www.m-vrata.com. Moving
forward, Mobitel is planning to integrate additional features to
further personalize the portal.
"In the Vignette Portal, we offer Mobitel a cost-effective and
user-friendly application that ultimately benefits its customers,"
said Irja Wichert, regional vice-president of central and eastern
Europe at Vignette. "By migrating existing applications to Vignette's
most recent portal technology, Mobitel is ensuring that it stays on
the forefront of providing its customers with the best, most
personalized services to meet their needs."
