CULPEPER, Va., Sept. 24  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Virginia Financial Group,
Inc. (NASDAQ:VFGI) announced today that it will participate as a presenter at
the 2004 Suntrust Robinson Humphrey Sunbelt Conference to be held at the Westin
Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia on September 28, 2004.

O.R. Barham, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, and Jeffrey W. Farrar,
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, are scheduled to make a
presentation to attendees discussing the strategies and performance of Virginia
Financial Group, Inc. (VFG) on Tuesday, September 28 at 8:30 a.m. eastern time.
