Universal Automotive Announces Delisting Notice 


ALSIP, Ill., April 20  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Universal Automotive
Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:UVSL) today announced that it has received a letter
dated April 19, 2005 from the Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. advising that due to
failure to file its Form 10-K on a timely basis the character "e" will be
appended to the trading symbol for the Company's securities (UVSLE) at the
opening of business on April 21, 2005.  It further advises that the Company's
securities will be delisted from The Nasdaq Stock Market at the opening of
business on April 28, 2005, unless the Company requests a hearing in accordance
with the Nasdaq Rules.  The Company does not presently intend to appeal the
delisting of its securities.
