Ezra Baylin Appointed Managing Director, Strategy and Corporate Development, at Towers Watson

Towers Watson (NYSE, NASDAQ: TW), a global professional services company, announced today the appointment of Ezra Baylin as managing director, strategy and corporate development. Baylin is a 13-year veteran of Towers Watson and succeeds Gordon Gould, who will continue at the company as a managing director. Both appointments are effective July 1, 2014.

In his new position, Baylin will have overall responsibility for the group that helps the company develop and execute its strategy by evaluating and pursuing internal and external investments, including organic investments, acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures and divestitures.

Prior to his appointment, Baylin served as head of corporate development and played a lead role in several recent transactions at Towers Watson, including the sale of the company’s reinsurance brokerage business to Jardine Lloyd Thomson Group plc and Towers Watson’s acquisition of Liazon Corporation. Before joining Towers Watson in 2001, Baylin held business development positions at Employease (acquired by ADP in 2006) and was a financial analyst in BT Alex. Brown’s investment banking group.

Gould has served as the head of strategy and corporate development at Towers Watson since 2000. He joined Towers Watson in 1986 as a senior consultant in Los Angeles. Gould also served as the company’s chief actuary from 1999 to 2000 and managing principal in Denver from 1996 to 2000. In his new managing director position, Gould will lead various strategy execution and future organization alignment efforts.
