Atlanta, Georgia - April 29, 2013 - DLH Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: DLHC), a leading technical services provider to Federal government agencies, including the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, specializing in healthcare, logistics, and contingency solutions, announced today that it is part of a winning team that was selected to provide support to the Navy's SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic as part of its Pillars Business and Force Support (BFS) portfolio Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract. DLH joins with Mandex, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business prime contractor on this effort.
This award allows DLH, as part of the Mandex team, the opportunity to provide the full range of system lifecycle support to SPAWAR. In addition to SPAWAR, the BFS Portfolio supports numerous sponsoring organizations representing all U.S. Military Services and many federal agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs and State. SPAWAR anticipates growth areas to be homeland security, logistics, medical systems, and particularly health systems technology. Representative projects are expected to include health systems lifecycle IT, operations, logistics and maintenance within the Military Health Systems network for organizations including TRICARE Management Activity, BUMED, and Theater Medical Information Program - Joint.
Chief Executive Officer, Zachary Parker, commented: "The Business and Force Support contract represents a key step in our strategy to expand our Health IT footprint within the Federal sector. There are serious systems challenges faced by DoD and the DVA today and we hope to leverage our solutions offerings and our partnership with Mandex to tackle some of them."
Executive Vice President, John Armstrong, FACHE, commented: "Despite the Federal budget gridlock, we believe that this ID/IQ contract provides DLH an excellent opportunity to compete for work in several viable and adjacent markets. The scope also provides capability to the DVA to enhance the DVA's ability to deliver to America's Veterans the world-class benefits and services that they have earned."
