Tech/Ops Sevcon, Inc. Commences Shipments to Peugeot for Its New Electric Scooter

Tech/Ops Sevcon, Inc. (NASDAQ symbol TO) today announced that it has commenced shipments of its GEN4 controller to Peugeot for its new e-Vivacity electric scooter.

The GEN4 controller will allow the scooter to achieve a constant speed of 45kph and a range of 60km on a single charge. Peugeot’s e-Vivacity Project Manager, Mr England Wei, said “the Sevcon GEN4 controller is a perfect fit for e-Vivacity. The performance, efficiency and compact size fits our application and requirements precisely. The controllers also improve efficiency and enhance the vehicle’s range capability which is extremely valuable.”

Peugeot’s pioneering scooter will launch in Spring 2011. It is designed for predominantly urban use and is 100% electric.
