Symmetricom Timing and Synchronization Experts to Speak at Carrier Ethernet World APAC Congress in Hong Kong

Their topics include: IEEE 1588 interoperability and performance test results for both frequency and time applications; maximizing throughput in carrier Ethernet networks to support the move to Ethernet backhaul; and assessing the development of packet optical transport networking and the benefits for service providers, respectively.

Ms. Wirjo is presenting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1. She will provide IEEE 1588 interoperability and performance test results for both frequency and time applications during the show’s Product Showcase Walk Through.

Mr. Datta is speaking at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, December 2 on “Maximizing Throughput in Carrier Ethernet Networks to Support the Move to Ethernet Backhaul.” He and panelists from Vodafone Hutchison, IP Infusion and Ericsson will discuss the reasons for disparity between expected and actual network throughput; understanding the implications of network design on throughput; effectively monitoring networks to get an accurate picture of throughput; and determining how to enhance performance for higher-layer protocols.

Mr. Neil is presenting at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, December 3 on “Assessing the Development of Packet Optical Transport Networking and the Benefits for Service Providers.” He and panelists from Tata Communications, Alcatel Lucent, Ericsson and Ciena will provide insight on: understanding how service providers can benefit from the latest optical and Ethernet networking solutions; evaluating vendor approaches to Packet Optical Transport and the alternative solutions available; determining how service providers can migrate from existing networks to P-OTNs; assessing the need for connection-oriented Ethernet; and considerations for a unified control plane to deliver profitable services that meet the customer needs.
