FiberLogic Communications worked closely with Symmetricom on validating the compliance of its OptiQNet842 and OptiQNet852, an access-based Ethernet Demarcation Devices (EDD), with the IEEE 1588-2008 standard. Throughout the rigorous testing, FiberLogic's Carrier Ethernet portfolio was shown to be capable of maintaining precise and constant synchronization with Symmetricom's carrier-grade TimeProvider® 5000 IEEE 1588-2008 Grandmaster Clock.

According to the recent report on Ethernet Access Devices (EADs) from Infonetrics Research, the EAD worldwide revenue hit $821M in 2011. The report also states that the EAD market saw a 17% increase over 2010, and is growing as a direct reflection of Carrier Ethernet connections to businesses, with backhaul from buildings and DSLAMs, and a growing mobile backhaul application.
