Avurt International Inc. is being acquired by Security With Advanced Technology, Inc.

Avurt's launcher is a compact five-shot device that shoots an irritant-filled projectile capable of disabling an attacker or suspect.  Avurt believes its launcher is more reliable and durable than rival products now on the market.  The device is laser aimed and fires a projectile in excess of 50 feet that breaks on impact, dispersing a cloud of pepper-based powder five times more powerful than aerosol pepper spray.

The launcher is designed to be used by federal and state agencies, security guard organizations, delivery service personnel, animal control officers as well as individual consumers who want non-lethal protection.

SWAT expects to close the pending acquisition of Avurt before the end of the year, upon shareholder approval.
