Super Vision International, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUPVA) (Class A
Common), a world leader in advanced lighting technologies and controls
used in commercial, architectural, signage, swimming pool and retail
lighting applications, today announced it was issued a patent for its
Evolution(TM) (EVO) based fiber optic illuminator technology. US
patent number 7,062,129 is directed at a fiber optic illuminating
apparatus to more efficiently produce a beam of light transmitted to a
fiber optic cable, greatly increasing illumination levels of the light
source.
"Developing more efficient ways to deliver light through optical
fiber is the key to expanding the applications for fiber optic
lighting," stated Mike Bauer, President/CEO of Super Vision. "This
new patented technology will play a key role in doing that and is an
important addition to Super Vision's intellectual property portfolio
from a competitive standpoint. This new patent brings our total number
of issued patents to 20 with seven additional patent applications
pending."
"We are excited about this new patent and its value regarding heat
and light transfer which has always been the barrier to acrylic based
fiber optics achieving higher levels of illumination," stated Roy
Archer, inventor and Director of Operations of Super Vision.
"Utilizing this new technology, Super Vision will be able to create
new products and meet applications that were not previously possible
with fiber optics."
