SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFNT), setting the standard for information
security, and Open Channel Solutions (OCS), a leading provider of
software entitlement and eBusiness management solutions, today announced
their partnership to offer a comprehensive licensing and entitlement
management solution to enterprise software vendors. The SafeNet and OCS
partnership delivers a solution that streamlines the process of selling,
delivering and managing software licenses.
SafeNet’s Sentinel RMS embeds licensing
functionality into vendor’s software, enabling
them to sell their products in a variety of different ways according to
their market needs. Poetic, from OCS, provides software vendors a
complete system for distribution, tracking and management of these
licenses through the channel and across the vendor’s
entire customer base. The seamless integration of these technologies
allows software vendors to combine these processes into a single, highly
efficient business process that increases revenues and reduces costs.
"The integrated solution offered by OCS and SafeNet will greatly benefit
software vendors in managing licensing and entitlements. With an
increased focus on the small to mid-size business market and the use of
innovative software licensing models - such as subscriptions,
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and other time bound entitlements - vendors
require licensing technology and systems that will enable them to
quickly adapt and effectively manage critical customer data,”
said Laurie Wurster, Research Director, Gartner.
By combining embedded licensing technology and an entitlement management
system, software publishers can now use OCS Poetic to generate licenses
to activate software protected with SafeNet’s
Sentinel RMS. The integrated solution will also allow users to easily
generate a wide range of additional license models and effectively
administer licensing programs.
“OCS is committed to providing the most
comprehensive entitlement management and eBusiness solutions,”
said Ed Rose, president and CEO, OCS. “With
this partnership, we’re extending the value we
provide by making SafeNet’s proven licensing
technology available to our clients right out of the box.”
