- Also Offers Discounts to Employees of Area Businesses - KIRKLAND, Wash., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The FLO(TM) Alliance, a group of industry leaders that includes Saflink Corporation (NASDAQ:SFLK), Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Johnson Controls, Inc., Smiths Detection, and ID Technology Partners, today announced that it will be providing free FLO (Fast Lane Option) Card enrollments to the 150 table sponsors of today's Aurora Economic Development Council A-List Event in Denver, Colorado. The FLO Card is a secure biometric credential intended for use by participants in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Registered Traveler program. The FLO Alliance also announced that it will be offering enrollment discounts to the employees of the event's sponsoring companies. The Aurora Economic Development Council A-List Event is an annual luncheon that brings together 1,500 of the top business and government leaders from Colorado's seven-county metro area to celebrate the success of the region. The FLO Alliance is a sponsor of this year's event. "The participants in today's Aurora Economic Development Council A-List event are exactly the demographic I believe the Registered Traveler program is designed for," said Glenn Argenbright, CEO of Saflink. "Frequent business travelers can benefit tremendously from the added convenience and streamlined security promised by the RT program and, in particular, the FLO Card. We're happy to provide the table sponsors for today's event with free enrollment as we think that once they experience the program, they'll be great evangelists for it." The table sponsors represent many of the largest employers in the state as well as leaders in the Rocky Mountain business community. When implemented, TSA's Registered Traveler program will allow individuals who voluntarily undergo an in-depth background check, provide biometric information (such as a fingerprint or iris scan) and pay an annual fee to take advantage of expedited security screening procedures at participating U.S. airports. Enrollees will use specially designated, privately managed RT lanes, where they will be required to present and match an approved, biometrically secured identity credential, such as the FLO Card. Travelers who apply for and receive a FLO Card will be able to use it in any airport that deploys RT lanes. The Denver International Airport (DIA) is one of a number of airports currently evaluating several private vendors, including the FLO Alliance, to install and manage RT lanes upon final approval by the TSA. As interoperability is a key mandate of the RT program, FLO Card holders will be able to use their cards in any RT lane managed by any vendor. The FLO Alliance will make it convenient for those who wish to enroll in the program. As currently planned, RT applicants will be able to submit their biographic information in several ways, including enrollment kiosks in airports, a secure Web site or by mailing a paper application to a processing center. Applicants will also be able to pay enrollment fees using a variety of methods including credit and debit cards, electronic debits to checking accounts and paper checks. The FLO Alliance for Registered Traveler, initially formed in 2005, brings together industry leaders in technology, finance and facilities infrastructure and security systems, in addition to companies with broad experience marketing to businesses, consumers and the aviation industry. The Alliance's solution provides for the complete Registered Traveler credentialing process and its operational use in airports. Built on the proven technologies of its members, the FLO Alliance RT architecture covers: the enrollment of biographic and biometric information and identity verification of participating individuals; collection of program fees; production and issuance of secure, tamper-proof FLO credentials; installation, maintenance and management of authentication platforms within aviation facilities throughout the United States; and operations management and customer service for the nationwide subscription program. About the FLO Alliance The FLO Alliance is a group of industry-leading companies formed to develop, market, sell and deploy an end-to-end solution for the U.S. government's Registered Traveler Program. The Alliance's solution is designed to provide for the complete Registered Traveler credentialing process and its operational use in airports. The FLO Alliance's biometrically secured FLO card would allow qualified individuals to take advantage of expedited security screening procedures in designated lanes at participating airports as well as promotional offers and discounts offered by retail partners. Alliance members include Saflink Corporation, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Johnson Controls, Inc., Smiths Detection (An operating division of Smiths Group) and ID Technology Partners.
