Survey of 200 Attendees Finds Majority will Continue Using Siebel
Applications
Research conducted by Extraprise(R) at last week's Siebel
CustomerWorld revealed that most Siebel Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SEBL)
customers believe that the company's merger with Oracle will have a
positive impact on their organization's CRM strategy. Extraprise has
been a Siebel partner for 9 years, and this survey is part of an
ongoing effort to reach out to Siebel and Extraprise customers with
support, guidance, and solutions. Extraprise is the first consultant
to combine marketing services expertise with an extensive systems
integration heritage to help companies uncover customer insights and
make them actionable across sales, marketing, and service channels.
They are the only company in their market to guarantee the success of
customer engagements in writing.
Extraprise surveyed decision makers, influencers and executive
sponsors of outsourced Siebel programs. According to the survey:
-- More than 76 percent of respondents plan to continue using
their existing Siebel applications
-- More than 56 percent of respondents are comfortable staying
with Siebel following its merger with Oracle
-- More than 55 percent of respondents said the merger would have
little or no effect on their own companies
Though only 56% of respondents reported they were comfortable
staying with Siebel, the company will manage to retain most of their
best customers due to their track record, incentives, and the
difficulties that migration away from Siebel present. While some
respondents voiced a concern about being forced to migrate to
PeopleSoft/Oracle applications, less than four percent said they would
migrate away from Siebel applications as a result of the merger.
Chad Gottesman, Vice President at Extraprise, said, "Despite the
acquisition by Oracle, sophisticated sales and marketing executives
will continue to leverage Siebel's market-leading applications if they
remain the best fit for their organization. Those who hope to increase
the effectiveness of their Siebel applications will continue to rely
on Siebel technology upgrades and should lean on partners like
Extraprise for guidance and solutions." Mr. Gottesman added that
Extraprise plans to announce a tailored offering for Siebel customers
based on its extensive research of conference attendees and its own
data from customers.
