Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition

On April 15, 2010,   Southern Community Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: SCMF and SCMFO) (the “Company”), the parent company for Southern Community Bank and Trust, issued a press release providing guidance on its first quarter 2010 earnings.  A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
