SBS Technologies(R) (NASDAQ: SBSE)
-- All chassis supplied with a backplane, power supply, I/O
wiring and necessary connectors
-- Available with VME or CompactPCI(R) backplanes for 3U or 6U
COTS boards
-- Standard backplane technology enables COTS-based application
solutions.
-- SBS Technologies offers a total system approach with one of
the most comprehensive portfolio of embedded products in the
industry and a single point of contact for system design
Today at the Embedded World Exhibition and Conference in
Nuremberg, Germany, SBS Technologies(R), (NASDAQ: SBSE), a leading
designer and manufacturer of embedded computer solutions, expands
their already extensive line of rugged systems and enclosures by
announcing seven rugged systems chassis.
These ruggedized COTS chassis are designed to support SBS systems
that will be deployed in harsh environments like submarine and naval
applications, sonar and radar systems, land based and avionic and
aerospace systems in combat ground vehicles and UAVs. Because all of
these systems chassis use standard backplane technology like
CompactPCI and VME, customers can choose just the right embedded COTS
boards for their customized designs and quickly field their
applications.
Using its systems engineering expertise, SBS Technologies is able
to customize a rugged system based on specific customer requirements
and qualifications, whether it's built from scratch or based on
existing solutions. All elements of a system (chassis plus payload
boards) can be designed, integrated and tested through SBS
Technologies' know-how, providing a single point of contact for the
customer for the completed system.
"SBS Technologies is one of the very few companies possessing the
capability to engineer such highly customized COTS systems solutions",
said Adrian Bernhard, Managing Director, European Operations. "SBS is
an ideal partner for rugged system delivery because all system parts
-- from chassis to backplane, power supply to I/O wiring, SBCs and I/O
boards to OS support and customer acceptance tests -- are designed and
delivered from one single source."
SBS rugged systems chassis are ready for system customization and
include the 3 slot 3U conduction-cooled RCBC03, 3 slot 3U
conduction-cooled RCBC03 with fastening footpads, 3 slot 6U
conduction-cooled RCCC03, 7 slot 6U conduction-cooled RCFC07, 8 slot
conduction-cooled 6U RCFC08, 12 slot ATR conduction-cooled 6U RCFC12,
and the 17 slot convection-cooled 6U RCFA17 chassis.
In keeping with environmental policies, RoHS versions will be made
available.
