Andrew Samuel, president, chief executive officer, and director of Sunshine Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SBCP) and Sunshine Bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Tompkins as executive vice president and chief credit officer. In this role, she will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the Bank’s loans, as well as establishing internal loan controls and written policies and procedures.
“I have worked with Jane for over 13 years and feel very fortunate that someone with her vast industry experience and knowledge will be joining our team in such an important role,” said Andrew Samuel. “Her expertise in working with the OCC and other compliance areas to ensure sound credit policies, procedures, and philosophies will help strengthen our credit culture while enabling our organization to grow.”
Ms. Tompkins has over 40 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining Sunshine Bancorp, Inc. she most recently served as the Risk Management Officer at F&M Trust Company where she managed all aspects of Enterprise Risk as well as Chairman of the Loan Committee and liaison with Internal Audit and Examiners.
An active member of the local community, Ms. Tompkins has been involved with a number of community organizations including Junior League, the United Way, Food Bank, and the Humane Society. She is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received her bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College.
