Despite being one of the world's most prominent polluters, China's investments into clean technology far surpass the United States -- due in part to China's $11.5 billion in asset-financing for clean technology in the second quarter of this year. However, China's third-quarter gross domestic product was up 9.1% from a year earlier, slowing from 9.5% growth in the second quarter and 9.7% growth in the first, China's National Bureau of Statistics said last week. Growth fell short of the median 9.2% forecast of 14 economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.
