New Features Meet User Demands for Increased Interaction,
Reporting, Co-Branding and Other Capabilities
Raindance Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:RNDC), the leader in
integrated multimedia conferencing services and support, today
announced the latest version of Raindance Meeting Edition, the
company's fully integrated web, audio and multipoint desktop video
conferencing service. With this update, customers benefit from
enhancements to collaboration and content management, including
synchronized multimedia recordings, seamless question and answer and
polling management and the ability to store and share documents
outside of meetings. These new features, designed to further drive the
simplicity of remote meetings and events, are automatically available
to all existing Raindance Meeting Edition customers the next time they
login to use the service.
"We are excited to unveil the latest version of Raindance Meeting
Edition as part of our continuing effort to make web conferencing
easier than walking down the hall for a meeting," said Don Detampel,
president and CEO of Raindance. "With this update, Raindance Meeting
Edition now offers a comprehensive and intuitive multimedia
conferencing tool that rivals every other service on the market
today."
Raindance Meeting Edition has transformed the way customers
conduct conferences, enabling collaborative impromptu meetings and
greatly diminishing costs among users. Raindance was recently given
the highest overall rating for its experience by its customers, as
stated in a report released by Wainhouse Research. The experience was
rated on several criteria including overall experience, ease of use,
support, reliability, price, performance, feedback and information
sharing as well as scheduling and starting a meeting and conducting
ad-hoc meetings.
Key Feature Enhancements
With these enhancements, Raindance users now have increased
in-meeting functionality and post-meeting management and reporting,
including the following:
Integrated Record and Playback: Integrated multimedia recording
enables users to create a fully synchronized playback that replicates
a live meeting, including all visuals, annotation, polling, audio and
video. After the meeting, the moderator can choose to e-mail out an
easily accessible link to the playback secured with
password-protection or download the recording to a local machine or
network. Detailed reports show who accessed the recorded content and
when and how long it was viewed.
Content Management Portal: Raindance's convenient portal, accessed
through a URL customized with the customer's name, allows users to
manage meeting content from a single interface. Meeting moderators can
prepare polling question sets, view and organize recordings and stored
documents and run reports.
Enhanced Participant Interaction: In addition to the text chat
feature already available in Raindance Meeting Edition, users now have
three more ways to involve participants in a more formal manner and
keep everyone in the meeting on the same page.
-- Question and Answer allows the moderator to manage inbound
questions by assigning them to other co-moderators, or
answering them independently.
-- Polling allows the moderator to receive controlled feedback
from meeting participants in real-time and choose to share
results with attendees in the meeting.
-- Force Full Screen and Force Zoom enables moderators to force
all participants into full-screen mode or zoom participants in
on a particular detail to optimize the meeting experience.
Stored Documents: Previous versions of Raindance Meeting Edition
allowed moderators to share and edit documents within the meeting. The
new stored documents feature adds to that functionality, letting
moderators post documents on their Raindance site and manage access to
the documents before and after the meeting.
Co-Branding: Customers who host external events with their
partners or customers often want to ensure that their meeting
environment expresses their brand and image. Co-branding lets
customers personalize their user interface with a company logo and
choice of colors, graphics and other design elements.
Expanded Reporting Capabilities: Moderators can access detailed
reports showing who attended the meeting, how long each person
attended and any related chat, Q&A and polling data. Reports are
provided in .csv format so they can be easily migrated to a tool for
customer relationship management (CRM) or sales force automation
(SFA).
According to a 2004 IDC report commissioned by Raindance,
first-year return-on-investment for four Raindance customers studied
ranged from 150% to 988%. These latest enhancements will only serve to
increase usability and promote cost savings.
