Raindance Communications(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: RNDC)
announced today the availability of Raindance Seminar Edition. As the
leader in integrated multimedia conferencing services and support,
Raindance now offers a simple, one-of-a-kind approach to planning,
conducting and managing seminar-style web conferences. Raindance made
this announcement from the Collaborative Technologies Conference being
held this week in New York. Raindance Seminar Edition will be used to
broadcast the keynote session hosted by Thomas Malone, codirector of
MIT's landmark initiative "Inventing the Organizations of the 21st
Century" and author of The Future of Work.
"From our six-plus years of experience in web conferencing, we
understand that coordinating the logistics of an event, whether it's
on-site or online, can be one of the most stressful and complicated
parts of any job. Users need a service that removes the complexity of
technology and allows them to focus on their message and their
audience," said Don Detampel, president and CEO of Raindance.
"Raindance Seminar Edition is simple enough to lead novices
step-by-step through the process and flexible enough to give experts
plenty of opportunity for customization. We believe that Raindance
Seminar Edition is the most intuitive, seamless and easy-to-use web
event tool available today."
Raindance Seminar Edition builds upon the intuitive in-meeting
experience currently offered by Raindance Meeting Edition, which has
received industry praise for its ease-of-use. Raindance Seminar
Edition adds powerful features that help manage larger audiences
before, during and after an event and provides users a way to conduct
large-scale events without the complexity common in other offerings.
"Raindance Seminar Edition brings a new level of simplicity and
automation to web events," said RooPam Jain, Senior Analyst at Frost &
Sullivan. "Raindance has taken the time to truly understand how people
use conferencing services and what their pain-points are with existing
service offerings. Raindance Seminar Edition is a powerful platform
for delivering full-featured web seminars that rival in-person events,
but at the same time are incredibly easy to schedule and manage."
Key Features
Planning the Event: Raindance's unique event creation wizard walks
users step-by-step through the scheduling process using a series of
simple questions to determine event times, presentation materials,
invitees and registration. Moderators can gather detailed information
about potential attendees by requiring registration, post events to a
public calendar for easy access and increase attendance through
meeting invitations that allow invitees to save the information to
their Outlook calendars. Using practice mode, moderators can conduct
live practice runs without opening the seminar to participants.
Conducting the Event: When conducting an event, all features
needed to share visuals and interact with participants are available
at the moderator's fingertips from the main interface.
-- Integrated Audio, Web and Video - Rather than having to
remember call-in numbers, Raindance's innovative OpenGo(R)
audio conferencing manages contact information and
automatically calls the moderator, co-presenters and all
seminar participants when the conference begins. Moderators
can record the audio, video and web portions of the conference
for later playback.
-- Visual Communication - By uploading documents and
presentations into Raindance's proprietary format, moderators
can show high-resolution visuals that dynamically resize based
on each viewer's screen real estate. To edit documents
on-the-fly or share control of a document, moderators can use
application sharing, web browsing or whiteboarding.
-- Participant Interaction and Management - Moderators have a
host of tools available to interact and engage participants on
a formal or informal basis. Polling allows moderators to get
formal feedback from their audience by publishing polling
questions during the meeting. Q&A provides a manageable way to
handle incoming text questions by answering questions publicly
or privately, flagging questions for follow up or assigning
them to others for answering. The chat feature allows private
text chat or public text chat at the moderator's discretion.
Moderators and co-presenters can easily and quickly promote
members of the audience, allowing them to share documents and
applications that reside on their computer and more freely
interact with the group.
Post-Event Management and Site Administration: After each event,
moderators have access to reports of all the activity that took place
before and during the event, including chat, polling, Q&A, participant
details and answers to registration questions. Post-event reports are
available in the industry-standard .csv format and can easily be
imported into a CRM or SFA tool for event success tracking and follow
up. The assigned customer site administrator can access company-level
reports or reports from any moderator and manage the accounts and
activities occurring on their company site.
