Rainbow to Showcase Security Solutions That Support Windows Rights Management
Services for Windows Server 2003 at RSA 2004 Conference
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rainbow Technologies,
Inc., , a leading provider of digital content and transaction security for SSL
VPNs, secure remote access and software anti-piracy today announced that it
would show security solutions that support Microsoft Windows Rights Management
Services (RMS) for Windows Server 2003 at the RSA 2004 Conference this week in
San Francisco.
Rainbow-Chrysalis' Luna SA hardware security modules protect RMS server's
cryptographic keys within a secure physical and logical security module. These
keys authorize publishing and user licenses used when clients create documents
or access IRM-protected content created in Microsoft Office 2003. Keys are never
exposed outside of the Luna SA. Luna SA supports RMS through FIPS 140-2 level 3
validated hardware security and cryptographic acceleration that provides fast
and secure transactions in even the most demanding enterprise environments. In
addition, the Luna SA provides hardware security that's easy to use and manage
and provides RMS deployments with secure authentication technology.
Microsoft Windows Rights Management Services for Windows Server 2003 is
information protection technology that works with RMS-enabled applications to
help safeguard digital information from unauthorized use. RMS allows users to
distribute digital information within their environment and define how, and
under what circumstances, it can be used. For example, authors can specify when
a file's rights expire and who can open, modify, print and forward it.
RMS-supported security hardware from Rainbow Technologies will be displayed at
Microsoft Security Solutions Pavilion Booth #701 in the Moscone Center during
the RSA 2004 Conference.
"Customers have told us they need solutions to help them protect sensitive
information against accidental or intentional leakage," said Michael Atalla,
Business Development Manager in the Security Business and Technology Unit at
Microsoft Corp. "Solutions such as Rainbow-Chrysalis' Luna SA hardware security
modules can help to meet this need and expand the value of Windows RMS for
customers."
In addition, Rainbow Technologies and Microsoft are working together to develop
a new security hardware device that will enable customers to manage RMS
operational services without connectivity to the Internet. Rainbow and
Microsoft are in the process of finalizing the design and development of this
deployment solution component.
