Quovadx, Inc. (Nasdaq: QVDX), a global software and vertical solution
company, today announced that Samaritan Health Services, a network of
Oregon hospitals, physicians and senior care facilities serving the
mid-Willamette Valley and the Central Oregon coast, has selected the
QUOVADX™ Cash Accelerator Suite and services
to power its Financial Interoperability solutions, including INSURENET®
Hub and INSURENET® Direct modules, to
provide direct connectivity between the organization and its payer
organizations and business partners.
Cash Accelerator and services from Quovadx will allow Samaritan Health
Services to automate the process of verifying patient eligibility.
Further, this information can now be directly incorporated into the
organization’s Meditech registration and
patient accounting systems, thereby eliminating the need for manual data
entry and improving the accuracy of collected data. Previously,
Samaritan Health Services conducted this process by calling in each
individual eligibility request by phone or checking payer Web sites.
“With Quovadx, we have moved from a completely
manual insurance verification process to an efficient and accurate
automated process, which allows us to gain more timely access to
information and reduce errors,” said Bob
French, chief information officer, Samaritan Health Services. “Further,
we have improved service to our patients by simplifying the registration
process and reducing denial of claims. These improvements save staff
across our facilities valuable time and resources which can be
redirected to improving patient care.”
Cash Accelerator will be actively integrated with the health system’s
Meditech hospital information system (HIS). With this integration, users
will be able to automatically send messages to payers to confirm
eligibility directly through the HIS system without needing to toggle to
a different application or move to a different terminal. In addition,
users will be able to perform the address verification, credit checks
and charity eligibility assessment automatically during the registration
process.
“As healthcare organizations face increasing
financial pressures due to the rising cost of patient care, the growing
uninsured population, and increasingly complex reimbursement
requirements, the ability to improve revenue cycle accuracy and
efficiency is critical,” said Afshin
Cangarlu, president, Integration Solutions division, and executive vice
president, Quovadx. “We are pleased to work
with Samaritan Health System to help them improve their insurance
verification and demographic validation processes, which will aid in
increased cash flow and improved cost management.”
QUOVADX™ Cash Accelerator Suite, including
INSURENET® Hub and INSURENET®
Direct modules, provide HIPAA compliant, flexible access and real-time
verification to more than 2,300 health plans in the U.S. through direct
payer connections and four clearinghouse connections. Robust data
quality tools provide for bi-directional, integrated processing to speed
and simplify the financial transaction process for healthcare providers
and public health organizations, saving valuable resources and
increasing the speed at which claims can be processed and paid. Cash
Accelerator Suite provides a single interface through which the full set
of real-time HIPAA transactions including claim submission, claim status
and referral processing, as well as credit checks or address
verifications, can be processed, verified, stored and retrieved.
