Pathmark Introduces new ''Healthy Steps'' Dietitian Program

  
    
  
  
    
      Pathmark Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTMK), announced the start of a new 
      program designed to help improve the well being of consumers called “Healthy 
      Steps.”
    
    
      The Pathmark Healthy Steps program features Jacqueline Gomes, RD, and 
      offers customers practical nutrition and healthy lifestyle information 
      that is easy to apply to everyday life; incorporating balance, 
      moderation, variety and enjoyment. “We want to 
      offer our consumers meaningful information that can improve their life,” 
      said John Derderian, Pathmark’s Executive Vice 
      President Business Strategy & Marketing. “Our 
      program is not about overhauling people’s 
      diets, but about teaching simple steps to achieve wellness. Healthy 
      Steps provides practical advice for incorporating a wide variety of 
      popular national and regional brands into a healthy diet.”
    
    
      Advice from Jacqueline will be available through local media, community 
      outreach programs, Pathmark advertising vehicles, a bi-monthly 
      newsletter and other in-store programs. In addition consumers will be 
      able to contact Jacqueline with specific questions by mail at: 200 Milik

      A variety of Healthy Steps themes will be supported with relevant 
      featured products every two weeks in the Pathmark sales circular. The 
      featured products and newsletters will be conveniently available on a 
      customized “Healthy Steps” 
      end-cap at a permanent location in most stores.
    
    
      Jacqueline’s skills will be utilized in the 
      areas of nutrition, health, and wellness related topics.
    
    
      Ms. Gomes is a dynamic registered dietitian whose experience goes beyond 
      a clinical setting to include community relations, marketing, lectures, 
      and nutrition research. Jacqueline is bilingual and plans to incorporate 
      the Hispanic community into the Healthy Steps program. Jacqueline holds 
      a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Monmouth University, West 
      Long Branch, New Jersey. She completed an American Dietetic Association 
      Internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, 
      located in Scotch Plains.
