   WHAT:  Portal Software, Inc. will be a featured participant at
           the SIP Summit 2005 Conference where Portal's Brian McCann
           will join a panel focused on SIP support systems. SIP
           (Session Initiation Protocol) is a high-speed protocol
           used for Internet telephony. The panel will examine how
           support system innovation is delivering improved
           productivity and better customer care, including topics
           such as how customers can get immediate satisfaction from
           IP communications services and whether the convergence of
           network services has caused congestion in the
           configuration of new applications.

   WHO:   Brian McCann, Portal's director of product marketing and a
           frequently featured speaker at telecommunications events.
