PMC to Exhibit and Present at the First Annual OpenPOWER Summit

PMC-Sierra, Inc. (PMC®) (Nasdaq:PMCS), the semiconductor and software solutions innovator transforming networks that connect, move and store big data, will exhibit and present at the first annual OpenPOWER Summit, March 17-19, 2015, at the San Jose Convention Center. PMC joins a lineup of OpenPOWER Foundation keynote speakers, technical workgroup updates and member presentations. Demonstrations:

• PMC will demonstrate its Flashtec™ NVRAM Drive and Adaptec® RAID Adapter running in an IBM POWER8 server in booth #1004. As an OpenPOWER Foundation member, PMC is collaborating to develop server and storage solutions for next-generation data centers that integrate IBM POWER CPUs and PMC Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and NVM Express™ (NVMe) products.
• PMC and Nallatech will demonstrate the combined power of PMC’s Flashtec NVRAM Drive and Nallatech’s CAPI Developer Kit in booth #1010. The demonstration shows how NVMe and CAPI can be combined to perform dataset manipulation at >3GB/s with low latency and minimal CPU utilization. These techniques can be applied to problems such as real-time analytics, bioinformatics, financial trading and security.

Wednesday, March 18, 3:25 pm: Stephen Bates, technical director for PMC’s NVM characterization program and an architect for PMC’s Flashtec products, will present “Using NVM Express SSDs and CAPI to Accelerate Data Center Applications in OpenPOWER Systems.” This presentation will discuss how NVMe and CAPI can be combined to enable high performance, low latency application acceleration in POWER8-based servers.
