Plumtree Launches Industry's First Developer Program and Conference for Building
Service-Oriented Applications
Support for Java and .NET Developers Key Element of Radical Openness Product

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Enterprise Web leader Plumtree
Software today launched a major new developer program to support customers and
partners building service-oriented applications based on the Plumtree Enterprise
Web Suite, and announced plans to host its first annual developer conference in
San Francisco, May 3rd - 5th.
The new program includes Plumtree's online Developer Center, quarterly developer
user group meetings and newsletters, new application development courses offered
by Plumtree Education Services and a plannedapplications incubator within
Plumtree's San Francisco and Boston offices designed for intense collaboration
with customers and partners. As part of Plumtree's Radical Openness product
strategy, the developer program provides equal support for both Java and .NET

Advanced Developer Conference to Focus on Development of Service-Oriented
Applications
The Advanced Developer Conference's three-day agenda spans the entire range of
programming interfaces and developer tools available with the Plumtree
Enterprise Web Suite, for building applications based on the Plumtree Portal Web
Services API, the Plumtree User Interface Customization Framework and Plumtree
Integration Web Services. Plumtree is preparing computer labs for the
conference, with new code samples in Java, Visual Basic.NET and C#, and hands-on
exercises designed to help developers build the different components of an
entire application. The conference will award prizes for the best applications
built in the labs, and will offer customers a portable storage device for
bringing code created in the lab back to the office.
Over a dozen Plumtree partners building commercial applications using Plumtree's
Enterprise WebSuite will be invited to participate, and Plumtree product
engineers and customers will lead technical presentations on topics such as:
-- Crawler, Authentication, Profile and Search Web Services;
-- Active Portlets, Pluggable Navigation and Plumtree Event Interfaces;
-- Collaboration Server and Search Server programming interfaces;
-- Advanced portlet development techniques in Java and VisualBasic.NET;
-- Microsoft .NET Web Controls and portlets that refresh in-place; and
-- Java Specification Request (JSR) 168 and Web Services for Remote
Portlet (WSRP) standards.
The conference will also offer open labs from 7 a.m. to 12 midnight, where
developers can build sample portlets and applications with assistance from
Plumtree experts.
