PHNS Improves Customer Service With Plumtree-Powered Dashboards

SAN FRANCISCO, July 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Enterprise Web leader
Plumtree Software (NASDAQ:PLUM) today announced that PHNS Inc., a provider of
IT, health information management, coding, transcription and receivables
management services for hospitals, has deployed the Plumtree Enterprise Web
Suite to 1,300 employees across the United States.
Having grown rapidly through acquisitions, PHNS selected Plumtree's Enterprise
Web Suite to help communicate better with employees, integrate systems and
monitor key activities such as medical record coding, transcriptions and
network uptime. PHNS is using Plumtree's framework to assemble new
service-oriented applications designed to help improve employee communications,
enhance executive decision-making and improve service for client hospitals.

access to business-critical information that was previously difficult to find

PHNS Deploys Portal-Based Dashboards for Record Coding, Transcription and IT
Prior to deploying Plumtree's Enterprise Web Suite, it was difficult for PHNS
to help employees find information quickly in order to do their jobs. PHNS'
employees work in 16 states, with only four percent of them headquartered in
PHNS' corporate office. To respond to these challenges, PHNS deployed an
integrated Plumtree portal and collaboration solution, offering employees a
single place to share information.
The PHNS portal, MyPHNS.com, provides employees with access to a variety of
dashboards to monitor business metrics and make better-informed decisions.
These dashboards include a:
-- Record-coding dashboard, which monitors the efficiency of the
medical records coding process by displaying metrics organized by
hospital, chart and code. The dashboard surfaces key information
from an integrated Web-based system called CodeRemote designed to
accept charts and streamline them into records codes;
-- Transcription dashboard, which surfaces transcription metrics
organized by areas of healthcare, work types, documents, costs and
reports. The transcription process consists of converting
hand-written notes about medical procedures into formatted text
documents; and
-- IT dashboard, which monitors system and network uptime. This
dashboard delivers hourly e-mails to employees about network status
and eliminates the need for employees to create major reports if
systems go down.
MyPHNS.com also provides employees with access to Enterprise Web applications,
which incorporate information from various backend and legacy systems, such as
the:
-- Customer project support application, which helps employees
collaborate with customers on projects and share key documents via
Plumtree Collaboration Server, including project plans, electronic
medical records and user manuals;
-- Vendor contract management application, which manages all customer
contracts as well as the security for accessing these contracts;
-- Employee support application, which provides all human resources
information and tools such as benefits, announcements and employee
surveys; and
-- IT security application, which allows employees from different data
centers to collaborate on network security issues and offers access
to threaded discussions, bulletin boards, news alerts and security
policies.
With the Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite, PHNS executives believe they have been
able make better decisions faster by accessing real-time business metrics. The
company has also improved customer service by increasing employee and customer
collaboration. When a customer has an expertise that overlaps with PHNS, both
parties can learn from each other by collaborating on standards, policies and
documentation via MyPHNS.com. In fact, PHNS is even demonstrating the portal to
its prospects during sales cycles, which is helping the company sell into new
