PCTEL Discontinues Mobile Tower Product Line

Sells Existing Inventory and Eliminates Product Line Costs

PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ: PCTI), a leader in Performance Critical Telecom solutions, announced today that it has sold its remaining mobile tower inventory to Northern Tower Industries Inc. With that sale, PCTEL will no longer maintain its mobile tower product portfolio, although it will retain certain intellectual property associated with the design of two separate mobile tower product families. The mobile tower product portfolio was one of the assets acquired in 2012 and was not a key element of the company’s kitting operation or antenna business. PCTEL had distributed mobile towers manufactured by third parties.

“Northern Tower is a natural home for this product portfolio and we wish them great success as they move forward in their markets,” said Marty Singer, PCTEL’s Chairman and CEO. “Mobile towers were incompatible with our business focus, and we could not achieve leadership in this market. Within Connected Solutions, we want to focus on our leadership GNSS and Broadband Wireless product portfolio as well as our kitted solutions operation,” added Singer.

The company will elaborate on the elimination of this product line at its upcoming earnings conference call on August 4, 2015.
