Overnite Tightens Transit Times Between Southern California and
U.S. Southeast
RICHMOND, Va., March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Overnite Transportation
Company, one of the nation's leading less-than-truckload carriers, announced
today it has reduced transit times to three days between Southern California
and the Southeast.
"These new, cross-country transit improvements will bring Virginia, North and
South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee under Overnite's three-day umbrella
covering locations from Fresno to San Diego in California," said Steve
Kershner, Vice President-Operations Support.
"The improvements are a continuation of Overnite's ongoing efforts to reinforce
a service product that saw more than 2,800 transit-time reductions in 2004,"
Kershner continued, noting the three-day transcontinental service to the
affected states "reinforces Overnite's claim as one of the nation's leading
transportation service providers."
Overnite blankets Southern California through a network of seven centers
located in Fresno, Bakersfield, Simi Valley, Los Angeles, Fontana, Orange
County and San Diego. The five southeastern states affected by the reduced
cross-country transit times are home to 35 Overnite service centers.
