Northwest Airlines Reports August Traffic

EAGAN, Minn., Sept. 7  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines (NASDAQ:NWAC) today announced a systemwide August load factor of 84.8 percent, 1.5 points above August 2004.  Northwest flew 6.96 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 8.2 billion available seat miles (ASMs) in August 2005, a traffic increase of 0.7 percent and a capacity decrease of 1.0 percent versus August 2004.
