Acer Ships Swype across Its Global Android Smartphone Portfolio

Supporting More than 70 Languages, Nuance Swype Keyboard now Default Keyboard for Acer Android Smartphones Shipping in EMEA, South Asia and Central and South America

Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) today announced it has signed a multi-year agreement with Acer to ship Nuance’s Swype predictive input keyboard on its lineup of Android smartphones shipping in Europe, Asia, and Central and South America. Swype lets users trace, tap, and write in over 70 languages.

Swype has been deployed on more than one billion devices around the world, and is the most personal, powerful and customizable predictive input keyboard for Android. Swype’s first-to-market continuous touch keyboard lets people quickly and effortlessly glide their finger from one letter to the next to input text – or simply tap or handwrite letters, numbers and symbols. With Swype’s predictive capabilities, words and phrases appear as users input text with personal language models that become familiar with a user's vocabulary.
