Netsmart is Awarded the City of Berkeley Contract for Its Avatar Public Health
software 


GREAT RIVER, N.Y., March 9  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Netsmart Technologies,
Inc. (NASDAQ:NTST), a leading supplier of enterprise-wide software for health
and human services providers through its wholly owned subsidiary, Creative
Socio-Medics Corp. (Creative), today announced today that Creative has been
awarded a contract with the City of Berkeley Department of Public Health,
Berkeley, California. The contract to be performed over one year, has a value
of $548,000, which covers licensing, services, and first year maintenance of
Creative's Avatar Public Health and clinical software.

Berkeley is one of three cities in California that has been designated as a
Public Health jurisdiction.  Berkeley Public Health has a mandate to ensure and
enhance the health of the community and to fulfill the core public health
functions, including:  monitoring the health of the Community; preventing
epidemics and the spread of disease; protecting against environmental hazards;
preventing injuries; promoting and encouraging healthy behaviors; responding to
disasters; assuring quality of and accessibility to Health Services; and
advancing community action to improve health.
